Who We Are

Camilla Schwarz combines her experience in western medicine as a registered nurse with her practice in acupuncture. Her practice is based on the belief that ancient and modern modalities of healing can be perfect and powerful partners.
Ms Schwarz received her Master's in Acupuncture from Tai Sophia Institute in Columbia, Maryland. She is trained in acupuncture, gua sha, cupping, and facial rejuvenation. She completed a fertility apprenticeship with Nicole Withrow of the Withrow Institute and is licensed to practice in the state of Maryland. She specializes but is not limited to the treatment of infertility and disorders of the immune system.

Nicole Withrow is trained in Acupuncture and Chinese herbology. She is licensed to practice Chinese Medicine in Maryland and California, is a Diplomate of Acupuncture, and a Diplomate of Herbology with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Ms. Withrow is on sabbatical from her acupuncture practice and maintains an herbology practice through Balanced Healing Acupuncture and Wellness.

Tiana Guinard came to Annapolis from Massachusetts to complete an internship at the Smithsonian and fell in love with the climate and the area’s maritime lifestyle. Being a scientist, she initially dismissed acupuncture as “voodoo”, until she was convinced otherwise by personally witnessing the transformation of the health of a beloved pet ferret under an acupuncturist’s care. She immediately became an acupuncture patient herself, and was amazed at the unexpected benefits of treatment she observed, including increased resistance to colds, reduction of allergy symptoms, and a general sense of well-being she had not experienced before. She became impassioned with this simple and natural form of healing, and within a year was enrolled in the master’s program at Tai Sophia Institute. Today, she is interested in many different aspects of Chinese medicine, and is still exploring options for her specialty. She plans on becoming a certified animal acupuncturist in 2008, so that she may give these gifts back to the animals which led her down this path. She currently shares her Annapolis home with her cat, Omar, and two ferrets, Joshy and Vinny.
